J-DRain SWD and MVP-12 provides a simple solution to the many complex drainage problems that occur on athletic fields. The narrow cross-section allows for J-Drain SWD to be installed without significantly disrupting the natural turf. In many cases the playing area can be returned to play the same day. This provides an excellent method for installing drainage in althletic fields. Trenches should be dug perpendicular to slope so that they intercept surface run-off as well as drain water from the turf and root zone.

MVP-12 provides a cost effective method for draining playground areas. J-DRain is laid horizontally across the playground area (see below) and provides rapid drainage so that the playground can be in use immediately following rainfall. Typical 12"-15" spacing intervals are recommended.

The filter fabric is wrapped and bonded to the drainage core, preventing intrusion of the filter fabric into the flow channels during the backfilling process. Soil particles are held back by the filter fabric and water passes through to the drainage core allowing water to be collected and conveyed to the discharge point.

Synthetic Turf Fields
J-DRain SWD-12 provides a cost effective alternative to pipe and gravel under-drains when constructing synthetic turf playing fields. By replacing these under-drains, trench excavation costs are eliminated and the amount of gravel fill is greatly reduced. J-DRain SWD-12 is laid horizontally across the field at specified intervals (normally 10 to 15 ft.) and provides rapid drainage from the playing field (see figure 1).
