Huesker geogrids have been successfully used as tensile reinforcement in civil engineering applications for over three decades. Geogrids are polymer-coated fibers that are used to reinforce roadways, slopes and walls. Incorporated into the reinforced structure in horizontal layers, they provide a stabilizing force within the soil or asphalt itself. This reinforcement occurs as the surrounding materials interlock with the grid. The strength of the interlock is determined by the geogrids tensile strength, mesh size and dimmensional stability.

Fortrac
Fortrac® is a flexible, extremely high-strength geogrid, with a proven trackrecord in soil reinforcement.

Fortrac® geogrids are manufactured from high-modulus, low-creep synthetic yarns and have a protective polymer coating. Fortrac® can be supplied in various mesh sizes and standard strengths between 20 kN/m and 150 kN/m. For special applications we can supply strengths over 1,000 kN/m. Fortrac® geogrids are normally supplied in widths of 3.70 and 5.00 m and roll lengths of 100-300 m so that overlapping can be reduced to a minimum. Special sizes can also be supplied at short notice.

Fortrac® exhibits considerably lower deformation under permanent loading than many grids of equivalent nominal strength from other manufacturers. Fortrac® geogrids are also manufactured from the new generation of polymers (aramid, polyvinyl alcohol) and open new perspectives for project-specific reinforcement. The versatility of Fortrac® products results from the experience gained in all the projects carried out to date. Planned, designed and implemented as a result of close cooperation between our engineers and research centres, engineering design offices, construction companies, project promoters and operators, Fortrac® has proved time after time to be the best.

Typical applications:

  • load-bearing layers in road, railway and airport construction
  • access roads and transportation routes
  • retaining walls and extra-steep earthwork slopes
  • slope stabilisation
  • noise reduction barriers
  • reclamation of industrial wasteland
  • earth embankments over piles
  • landfill
  • bridging of underground voids or sinkholes

Properties:

  • high tensile force at low elongation
  • high ultimate tensile strength
  • excellent long-term behaviour due to low creep characteristics
  • high resistance to soil micro-organisms and chemicals, UV radiation and mechanical damage
  • good grid/soil interaction provided by selecting the geogrid mesh to accommodate the adjacent material
  • problem-free installation due to low product weight and excellent flexibility even in extreme cold
  • very wide range of tensile strengths in length and width

Fornit Biaxial Geogrids

Fornit® biaxial geogrids are manufactured with high strength polypropylene yarns, and coated for protection against both installation damage and exposure to ultraviolet rays. Strong and durable, they reinforce, confine and separate unbound aggregate base and subbase materials with unsurpassed performance. By distributing the loads over a wider area, Fornit geogrids dramatically increase the bearing capacity of subgrade soils. And they're ideal for unpaved roads and construction platforms over soft soils.

Fornit® is comprised of polypropylene yarns, crafted into a stable, interlocking pattern and then coated for protection from installation damage. They are easy to install and resistant to freeze-thaw conditions, soil chemicals and ultra-violet exposure. Fornit geogrids have been developed to stabilize poor soils by providing tensile reinforcement and soil separation. They confine and strengthen road base aggregate thereby reducing the required base thickness. Fornit geogrids are produced at Huesker’s manufacturing facility that has achieved ISO 9001 Certification for its systematic approach to quality in development, manufacture, inspection, sales and application support of geosynthetics.

Fortrac 30G

Fortrac® 30G is designed to reinforce soil in wrapped face, welded wire retaining walls and slopes. It is comprised of a small aperture high tenacity, polyester grid, stabilized with PVC coating. Fortrac 30G provides soil retention and reinforcement while allowing for quick establishment of a vegetated face.

Fortrac® 30G is comprised of high tenacity polyester yarns, crafted into a stable, interlocking pattern and then coated for protection from installation damage. Fortrac 30G is easy to install, unaffected by freeze-thaw conditions, and resistant to chemical, biological and ultra-violet exposure. Fortrac 30G is designed for use as secondary reinforcement for wrapping the face of vegetated slopes. Fortrac 30G is produced at Huesker’s manufacturing facility that has achieved ISO 9001 Certification for its systematic approach to quality in development, manufacture, inspection, sales and application support of geosynthetics.

Fortrac 3D

Fortrac® 3D is a further development of Hueskers Fortrac georid and is introduced as a slope protection and surface erosion protection material. As a high tenacity geogrid Fortrac 3D provides ideal reinforcement against soil slippage by improving soil retention on a vulnerable slip plane surface. It's tensile strength carries the loading forces imposed on the anchorage zone . Thus surface stability of the structure is increased, resulting in a safer and more economical construction method. Also, due to its distinctive three-dimensional structure and valuable soil retention properies, Fortrac 3D significantly increases erosion resistance. Fortrac 3D geogrids are produced at Huesker's manufacturing facility that has achieved ISO 9001 Certification for its systematic approach to quality in development, manufacturing, inspection, sales, and application support of geosynthetics.

The Fortrac 3D geogrids are designed with yarns woven into a three dimensional matrix that provides an efficient reinforcement for soils and root vegetation. Fortrac 3D has been developed to reinforce surficial soils in steepened slopes, embankments and landfill cover systems. Fortrac MP

Fortrac® MP is manufactured from a proprietary fiber blend of high tenacity polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with polymer coating. Fortrac MPs resistance to chemical degradation allows it to withstand even the most alkaline conditions, providing durability that is Best in Service. It is engineered for use in any soil condition.

Fortrac® MP series geogrids are made with polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) yarns, crafted into a stable, interlocking pattern and then coated for protection from installation damage. Fortrac is easy to install, unaffected by freeze-thaw conditions, and resistant to chemical, biological and ultra-violet exposure. The high junction strength capacity of Fortrac geogrids provides an efficient tensile reinforcement for a wide range of soil types. Fortrac geogrids have been developed for use as tensile reinforcement for segmental retaining walls, steepened slopes, roadways and landfill lining systems. Fortrac geogrids are produced at Huesker’s manufacturing facility that has achieved ISO 9001 Certification for its systematic approach to quality in development, manufacture, inspection, sales and application support of geosynthetics.

HaTelit Asphalt Reinforcement

This outstanding reinforcement for asphalt surfaces combines strong polyester fibers with an asphalt coating for exceptional bonding with the road surface. HaTelit® increases the tensile strength of the asphalt layer and provides outstanding reinforcement against pavement breaks and cracks caused by temperature changes and other stresses. Paved surfaces reinforced with HaTelit will remain smooth for years.

HaTelit® asphalt reinforcement geogrid provides the best solution to reflective cracking in asphalt overlays. HaTelit is an asphalt reinforcement composite which combines a high modulus polyester geogrid with a lightweight non-woven. This composite is coated with bitumen to strengthen the bond with the asphalt layers. HaTelit combines with the asphalt layer to increase the tensile strength, thereby reducing tensile stress peaks. Reflective cracking is also reduced due to HaTelit and asphalt having similar thermal expansion properties. HaTelit asphalt reinforcement reduces maintenance costs and extends the service life of overlay.
